FLASH(ES)

solo exhibition at SECONDroom GENT

2016

As a flash consists in a narrative figure to develop a script to an other side of the story or an alternate reality (flashback, flash side-ways...), the exhibition presents a set of paintings where the main frame needs to be gathe- red in order to look for a possible viewpoint inside pictures coexistence.

Each painting is made from old stereoscopic views taken in the United States of America around the late 19th century, before the cinema emergence, in what will later be refered to as the Western genre.

These double pictures were used to give the illusion of a depth of field, using the regular binocular vision.
From an alteration of the interval between each viewpoint, other times, other scripts replace the original contents.
